2nd Annual golf classic
Our second annual golf classic took place last Friday, with forty-eight teams entered. Congratulations to Edward Horgan for his amazing efforts to achieve such a high entry and terrific sponsorship. Pat Kavanagh was the competition manager and ensured that the tournament ran smoothly. Hearty congratulations to Park United whose team outshone the rest to place first.
As with last year, the cold plate meal was organized by Paul and Edward Horgan, and was the target of much praise. Thanks too to Martin, Lisa, Marie, Kathleen, and Josh, for being there to keep the refreshments flowing, and to the members of the Josiah Stone band who were excellent as always.
Our thanks to Mitchelstown Golf Club members and staff who gave every assistance to make the day a memorable one.

Congratulations to all our Limerick members for bridging a forty five year gap by winning the senior All Ireland hurling title, and our Tipperary members for their under 21 victory on Sunday
No lottery winner last Sunday week in the Walsh’s lounge, where we concluded the draw on Sunday night. The numbers drawn were 1, 3, 13, and 22. There was no jackpot winner.

The next draw will be Sunday, 2nd September, in Supermac’s which is famous for its great selection of food, fast service, and Tim Luddy’s smile.
The new jackpot will be €16,200 for a single winner, the highest it has ever been, or shared if more than one winner.
Entry is only €2 per pick of 4 numbers or 3 tickets for €5.
Remember, the odds of getting 4 numbers in our lottery is very close to the same as getting 4 numbers in the national lottery, but our prize is far bigger, over 250 times bigger in fact.

Junior 1 League Division 2
All the league fixtures are published and are available on the club website. Please try to arrange any weekend breaks for the blank dates to avoid any clashes. It is good to see that we are competing with ten other Cork teams, including Fermoy, Mallow, and Charleville.
Training is now in full swing, and takes place in Curraghbowen on Friday nights at 7:00pm. All newcomers welcome.
