Mitchelstown Rugby Club

Munster Junior League Conference C

Ennis 36 Mitchelstown 24

As can be seen from the score line, a depleted Mitchelstown side put up a great performance against a strong home team in atrocious conditions, and were unlucky to get a second bonus point, despite losing 17-7 at the interval.

The boys fought hard in the second period, and but for understandable errors, might have snatched a victory. Better fortune awaits.

U16's Boys League

Mitchelstown v   Mallow

Last Saturday we hosted Mallow in a league game in a hard fought and well spirited game. While Mallow would run out winners by the end they by no means had their own way through the game. We caused the visitors a lot of problems by competing extremely well on the ground and winning a huge amount of turnovers as a result. Our try came from a sustained period of pressure involving a large number of phases within their 22 and was scored in a very determined manner by our No.6 Conor Dooling driving through a number of defenders. The try was then converted with ease by our no 10 by Sean O’Grady. A big thanks to Mallow RFC for facilitating the game.

This team is gelling nicely with returning and new players being added to the fold. The team themselves wanted more work so we have added training on Tuesday evenings in addition to Thursdays. New players are always more than welcome, we have already added 4 who never played before, so if anybody born in either 2006 or 2007 is interested in joining please feel free to come along. Our next game is scheduled away to Sunday’s Well in Musgrave Park on the weekend of the 12/13th Nov, date and time will be confirmed.
