MRFC vs Crosshaven/Cork Con under 14s Match Report Oct 6th
Mitchelstown RFC 7 v Crosshaven/Cork Con 24
Our under 14s got their season started with a visit from Crosshaven/Cork Con on what turned into a
Lovely morning at home in Currabowen. We were treated to great game with both sides playing
some really positive rugby. Mitchelstown went behind early but rallied with a great try by Captain
Issac Keneally and the conversion by Cathal Meade. Only for some last second tackles and a
disallowed try our lads would have gone into half time with a lead instead of a 12-7 score to
Crosshaven.
The 2nd half was just as good as the 1 st with both teams playing to win and putting in some great
tackles all over the pitch. In the end with very little between the teams Crosshaven got 2 late try's to
make the final score 24-7 but our lads came off the pitch knowing they played well and the results
will come in time. Our squad on the day was: Anthony Flynn, Josh Keane, Killian O’Driscoll, Finbarr
Danne, Liam Drake, Tom Walsh, Dean Slyne, Issac Keneally, Rory McCarthy, Cathal Meade, Harry
Finn, Joe Gallagher, Mark Williams, Aaron O’Riordan, Luke Walsh, Oisín Heaphy, PJ Hogan, Evan
Holland.
Thanks for all the support on the day from the parents, Crosshaven’s travelling support and our own
club members to cheer on the lads and the refreshments as always were brilliant. We will be training
every Thursday night at 7pm at Currabowen any new players welcome.
