Match Report U18.5's V Old Christians Friendly
On Friday night last we travelled to Glanmire to play Old Christians in a friendly game in perfect conditions. This friendly game was arranged to give the boys more game time and it proved to be a valuable run-out for them. A great 1st half try was finished off by our scrumhalf Tommy English after a great line break initially by Sean O’Grady with support from Darragh Casey, a couple of heavy phases later Tommy spotted a mismatch between 2 forwards and raced over the line. Another try in the second half by out-half Dan Turley all of which was his own making by exerting huge pressure on their no 10 ended up with Dan winning the foot race to a blocked down ball, he then converted with a classy kick off the tee. While the result didn’t go our way some fine individual performances and moments made this a very worthwhile game.
Our next fixture is Saturday 19th October at home in Curraghbowen at 11.00 against Cashel/Clonmel in the Munster League.
